So far this year, I’ve dealt with two things: death and taxes. Both are unavoidable. Both are humbling. Dad passed Feb 24, 2025 after a battle with lewy body dementia (LBD) & parkinson’s. Below is the full video of his celebration service for those asking.
I can’t believe he passed 10 days ago; time is very strange.
To those that made it, thank you doesn’t go deep enough. Dad’s life was in the room through you. Too many people to thank on social media, but people came from TEN different states!!!! ❤️
The gravesite was very humbling but again reminded me exactly of dad – something he would say through his life downplaying any fanfare, “just put me in a pine box!”. So the simple, but gorgeous, pine box it was.
If you want to get a sense of who dad was, or even just reminisce, see the timestamps below and video above (or the click the link here). Most moving was my sister & mom – the bold women in my life stepped to the mic and gave me such joy bringing his life back into the room.
23:20 – Dad’s favorite Psalm 139
25:25 – Karen – marriage & adventure
35:25 – Lindsey – helping people see
39:30 – Adam – music & mountains
52:40 – Slideshow song: Highlands – Song of Ascent
1:00:00 – Sam – gospel (the most important!)
